Understanding the Surf Board

PARTS OF THE SURF BOARD

Surf board

The Nose is the pointed rounded curve end of the board

The opposite side which has the Leg Rope is the tail. Wherein that’s where you lay your feet when you’re on ready to prepare for surfing.

The Legrope is a velcro strap which you attach yourself together with the surfboard, that goes around at the back of your ankle.

The sides of the board is called as the Rails which you hold on to and use when you need to turn your board.

The Top side of the board is called as the Deck, where you position yourself when you’re ready to pop-up/step-up on the board. It is the place you lie and stand on.

The Bottom, that’s it.

For Beginners such as I, It’ll be best for you to learn using a SOFT LONG BOARD (8-10 feet long); not only is it safer for you to learn but it’ll motivate you to catch waves easier, paddle better, which makes you have a  smooth-riding wing that gives you a stable platform to stand on, rides well on small or big waves, turns slow, is forgiving of a moderate mis-step, and you’ll be getting up and surfing the day you try it on.
